The Mikey Show Recap 4-20-07

Today on the Mikey Show…

We started off the broadcast today talking about the bet between B Rob and Eddie. The two played a game of Homerun Derby today, where the loser would get his head shaved. This was a big deal, since Rob’s dreads have been his pinnacle of his dirtbagness since he’s been on the show. Eddie, on the other hand, has his wedding coming up, an therefore, would also suffer from getting his head shaved. The two played through, with the final score being 3 to 1… in Eddie’s favor! B Rob immediately got his head shaved by our official barber, P-1 T-Rex. Pictures and video can be found online at www.mikeyshow.com.

Alec Baldwin was in the news today after a voicemail leaked of him verbally abusing his eleven year old daughter. Alec’s message to her was extremely abusive, at times calling her “a pig” and a “little monster.” He also made a point to tell her that he was going to “let her know” how disappointed he was in her when next they met. Mikey was particularly furious about this, since he stated that he found it hard, if not impossible, to understand how someone could cause such lasting pain to their daughter or son intentionally. Although we had a few P-1s call-in to explain Alec’s side of the story, we all agreed wholeheartedly that any type of abuse toward a child that belittles them in any way was simply inexcusable.

Today was, in the wake of the VT massacre, also the eight year anniversary of the Columbine shooting. We had  P-1 Pat call in who was at Columbine at the time of the shooting and explained, from his viewpoint, what he experienced that day.

Jeff Corwin was in on YouTube recently after a segment of his new show was released that included an elephant attacking him. With Corwin close by, the elephant grabbed on to his arm and shook him furiously before letting him go. Corwin called up and told us about the incident from his perspective. He explained that, in his line of work, accidents, such as this, are simply part of the job and that their goal is simply to help the animals, regardless of how dangerous they are.
