Mikey Show Recap Friday Sept. 8, 2006

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Shawne Merriman called into the show today. He touched upon the Steve Foley incident. He told us that he just got out of ICU and that if it was anyone else that had been shot who did not try and was not as big as he is, it would of killed them. He told us that he did watch the NFL kick off but its tough to watch football like regular people watch it because he is used to watching scouting tapes. He told us about the rookie dinner and how last year he was stuck with the 32 thousand dollar bill and that the tip was 62 hundred. He said Drew Brees was the guy ringing up a good portion of the tab, ordering 3 thousand dollar wine bottles.

~ We talked with Marian Fontana, the author of A Widows Walk, Memoirs of 9-11. her husband was a N.Y.C. Fire Fighter who died on 9-11. She told us about the love and compassion she received from people all across the U.S. after she lost her husband and how that really helped her through. She was married to him for 17 years and told us that since 9-11 it has got to be a little bit better but it was it’s a long and tough road dealing with the grief.

~ Mikey debuted another new song by B. Rob. It is a parody of Justin Timberlake's song Bringing Sexy Back called Bringing Dirty Back. The song takes a shot at everyone on the show. Eddie did not know about the song and did not like the shot taken at him.

~ Mikey talked about divorce and how so many people in America do it. Bobby gave us a statistic on India and how the divorce rate is 1 percent because they believe once you are married you are married to the person for four lifetimes. We talked to P-1 Sandra who is going through a divorce and after she explained how her husband yelled and cussed at her all the time, Mikey broke it down to her. Mikey explained that communication is key in relationships.
