Mikey Show Recap Wed. August 30, 2006

Today on The Mikey Show...
~ Dane Cook called into the show. we were in the middle of talking about the new show Celebrity Duets and Dane told us he wants to make a new show called Celebrity Punch in the Face. We asked what famous celeb's Dane has in his cell phone and the first on the list was Jessica Alba. Then when Mikey tried to get Dane to confirm the rumors of him dating Jessica Simpson, he went way overboard and made some inappropriate comments (that were hilarious) about them hooking up. We actually had to hit the button on him.

~ Mikey got an email from this P-1 chick who had some hard feelings towards her dad's girlfriend. We found out that the dad is 65 and the girlfriend is only 26, just about the P-1's age. The P-1 could not stand the girlfriend and thought she was real sleazy so she wrote to us looking for help. Mikey called in Dr. Phil and he gave her some of his backwoods advice.

~ We played Mikey's Gay Pod today. Today we heard some Elton John. Overall, it was not that gay today. We had a couple of winners today.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Mikey got this email from this guy explaining how he delegates allowance to his kids. P-1 Rich wrote that even though his daughter and son do about the same amount of chores he gives them different allowances because he thinks he is preparing his daughter for the real world where women get paid less than men. His daughter is 11 and his son is 13. P-1's called in to comment, telling us that this could either make his daughter want to change that when she gets older but the reality of an 11 year old thinking that is a little far fetched, where as she probably thinks dad does not love her as much as the son. Also the P-1's pointed out that he is probably raising a very sexist son. P-1 Rich called in and had a very sexist view towards women.

~ Blunder stopped by the studio today. We got him to tell the bear story again for the eleventy millionth time. The story changed once again as well. We have now found out that there were 2 bears and that Rick actually saw them later in the story. If you missed it or have not heard it, you must and it is on the pod cast section of the website.

~ Mikey told us today that he saw a lady pouring out water at a red light and it really upset him. He looked at it as almost littering. B. Rob and Sean said that they do it and it really upset Mikey to find out that they do it with soda. Ashlee had a problem with it too and she called it liquid littering. A P-1 police officer called in and told us that actually it is against the law and you can get ticketed for it.

~ We played Puss Rock Juke Box today. B. Rob sucked at screening the calls and let in a bunch of douche bags that did not know their stuff. We had no winners today.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Lights Out Shawne Merriman called into the show this morning. He cleared up the stuff we heard him say about Junior Seau and how he thinks he is better than him. Actually everyone misunderstood what he said and meant, he told us that he said when its all said and done he hopes to be better than junior and he wants to work hard to attain those achievements. We talked about Shawne's website www.shawnemerriman.com, it has a lot of cool stuff, check it out.

~ We played a little P-1 Balderdash today. Today one of the words was fumart, which actually is a pole cat but the fake definitions were funnier. They wrote that it was like Wal-Mart but for martial arts and that Chuck Norris was the spokesperson and the other false definition was it’s a racist word for an Asian market.

~ Mikey read us an email that he received from a P-1. The email told us that the P-1 drives an H2 Hummer and that he recently got back to his car in a parking lot and found a note on the windshield that read "thanks for the war and global warming a**hole". Nobody on the show really thought that this person was right in leaving the note. Mikey then wanted to figure out what kind of person leaves that kind of note. We all agreed that there are certain times a note is acceptable for example when some one takes up three parking spots.

~ Jerry Penicolli from Extra called into the show today. He was at the Emmy's last night and talked to us about how he feels most of those celebrities are really just normal people. This guy tried telling Mikey that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are very normal people when in reality land where we all live, anyone who goes to foreign countries to adopt babies is not normal. Mikey was fascinated with how all the celebrities smelled. We found out that they don’t smell like beautiful perfumes because of how hot it was on the red carpet.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Former terrorist Kamal Saleem called into the show today. This was a fascinating interview. He told us about his personal story of how he converted from Islam to Christianity. He told us about how terrorist believe that western culture is intruding their ancient ways and that is a big reason why they hate Americans. If you missed the interview you have to listen to it (its very compelling) it is on the Mikey Show website, www.mikeyshow.com.

~ Mikey's brother Sam called into the show to tell us how his birthday party went last night. Sam invited B. Rob and Ashlee but did not invite anyone else on the show including his own brother. Then Sam went on to tell us about Ashlee and her hugs where she molests you and that was the reason he shook her hand. He said his co-workers were star struck to meet her.

~ Mikey told us about the trouble he and his wife are going through designing Jake's room. Mikey told us that he wants some Winnie the pooh designs on the walls for Jake to look at but his wife wants it to be more of a pottery barn atmosphere. Mikey said that he thinks that it would be better for Jake to have kids designs but his wife is not a fan of traditional little kid designs.

~ We had a discussion about how the morning after pill is now over the counter. Ashlee make a great point today and revealed to us that this really upset her. She said that now younger people might think that they don't need to wear condoms because this pill will be so readily available for them.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We did a new thing on the show today called "Whatcha' Doing at the Court House?". B. Rob goes out to the court house with a tape recorder and simply asked people "whatcha' doing at the court house?". Today we heard a cabbie who spoke really bad broken English tell us about his situation, a homeless guy told us about his court case and how he was picking out a jury right now, and finally we heard from a pimp that was going to bail out one of his bitches.

~ Mikey debuted yet another song by Hamlanis Morrisette called One Ham in my Pocket. It was freaking hilarious. It references Sky and how she has one hand in her pocket and the other one flipping off Costco. Then it goes on to say she has one hand in her pocket and the other whipping Ramsey, poor guy.

~ We played Tone Deaf Karaoke today. Ashlee singing hip hop songs is most amusing. We heard her rendition of Dr. Dre and Tupac's California Love and it was delicious. She also sang a Green Day song and that song by Jackson Brown called Somebody's Baby.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Who Can Sean Beat Now?. Sean was his nervous self as usual and everything was going fine until a very confident P-1 played him and actually won. This was only the second time anyone had beat him. The p-1 told Sean he was easy like Sunday morning.

~ Mikey told us about a weird driving fear he has when he drives. He told us that he is always afraid that a rock or something will fly up and hit his car or fly into the window and hit him. Everyone including the P-1's started telling their own weird little fears when driving. Eddie told us that he brakes when he is a passenger and Sean revealed to us that he has to close his eye when he is a passenger and is riding through a parking lot.

~ Mikey had on his server from the restaurant he went to last night. The guy is originally from Massachusetts and is wicked smart. He told us he went to UCSD for cognitive science, let that sit and marinate all up in your brain for a moment. Basically he makes interfaces more user friendly (I have no idea). Mikey had him on because he was a true Will Hunting and was working as a waiter but should be doing something else that is more of his caliber, so he wanted P-1's to try and help him get a job.

~ P-1 Diane called in to the show and politely explained to us that she is worried that her daughter is a nerd. Mikey dug deeper and found out that her daughter just started high school and she was worried that she has no friends. Mikey thought that it was fine for her daughter to be a nerd and there are a lot of good qualities that nerdiness has to it.

~ Ashlee wrote a pissed off letter to promotions and Shauna today correcting them on their job. The email was all jacked up though and Mikey read it on the air. Instead of using the word legible, she used eligible and had many run-on sentences. It was hilarious.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ P1 Kathleen and her son DJ came into the studio today. She came across some tough luck and wrote Mikey an email about how she could not afford to get her son and two step kids stuff for this school year. Everyone from sales and even the P1's got together and donated things from back packs to haircuts for the kids.

~ Our old friend Boy Rick also know as Budweiser stopped by the studio today. He made an announcement to us that was shocking and jaw dropping. He told us that he and his lady are no longer. He told us some of the details and Mikey gave him some fatherly advice because he loves him.

~ In the Tribune today there was a big story on poisonous snakes and people being bitten by them. Mikey told us that his fish guy Dave was bit by a black widow the other day. Mikey told us that there are only two hospitals in San Diego county that have an anti-venom for it and they will not give it to a healthy adult male. Dave had to wait it out on his own. P-1 called in to tell stories of being bit and even tell us how they hunt, cook and eat rattle snakes.

~ At the end of the show we got into a huge fight about picky eaters. Mikey and Eddie along with Ashlee all agree that Rubio's fish taco is the greatest thing in the world but Sky and B. Rob will not eat it or even try it. They hate fish and everyone tried convincing them that it does not taste like fish. Then the picky eaters topic came up and how Mikey's wife will hardly eat anything. We had her on the phone and Eddie and her had it out, Eddie tried convincing her to try new food but it was not happening.

Today on The Mikey Show...
~ Shawne Merriman called into the show this morning. We found out that Shawn has a personal chef that cooks for him. He did tell us that she is a female but would not get into much more with us. Mikey wanted desperately to know whether she was attractive or not but Shawne would not say a word. He said that she comes twice a week to cook healthy for him.

~ Mikey read an email from a P-1 wondering about children sleeping in their parents bed. He had let his child do it and it turned out to be a problem. Mikey told us that he will not be letting Jake sleep in the bed with him unless little Jake has nightmares which then he will be allowed. Sky agreed with Mikey and Eddie took a much stricter stance on the situation. Eddie said that there will be no way his kid will sleep in his bed even if he has nightmares. In the case of nightmares, Eddie will lay in his child's bed and wait till he falls asleep.

~ We talked about names and how when you look at some one their name fits them. Mikey went on to tell us that Mikey gave Sky an option for her name. The options were Sky, China or Holly. Mikey told us that he really wished he had made her take the name Holly. We had Budweiser on the line and Mikey told us that he was either going to be called Lumpy, numb nuts or Boy Blunder. Budweiser told us that he wanted Boy Bluner because he thought it was going to be super hero-ish. Turns out the only super power he had was the ability to put cuss words over the air.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played a new game today called Home Room Ditz. It involves Ashlee playing against 8th graders in an 8th grade knowledge test. Today the contestant claimed that he was going into ninth grade but sounded like he was 48 years old. The P-1 won today, some questions were "spell the word… inaugural", and "what was the first capitol in the United States".

~ We talked about when couple fight all the time with each other whether be in public or private. Mikey is very well versed in this topic and broke it off proper for Ashlee. Ashlee had different questions about her relationships and Mikey explained how she must have learned the fighting from her parents and that you seek out those kind of relationships.

~ We had our lovely boss Shauna on today. She got into a sports argument with Eddie over IM and we got her on the line to talk about it. Then we got into how it was her and her husbands anniversary last night and asked what they did. She said that she took him out to dinner and that he got her diamond earrings. That brought up an entire conversation about gift giving between couples and what is and what is not appropriate.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played a new game called Mini Bar Price is Right. It is played like the television show the Price is Right but the P1's have to guess the price on things in hotel mini bar's. They have to come with-in 25 cents of the price to win. It was really crazy hearing what some of the things cost like a snickers bar was 4 bucks.

~ B. Rob met his girlfriends parent and was really nervous put had no problem sleeping over that night. Every one was trying to figure out the logic behind B. Rob meeting the parents and being very worried about how they would react to his piercing, tattoo's and dreads but then did not even hesitate when it came to sleeping in the living room with his girlfriend while her parents were in the other room.

~ We got into a heated discussion about grown women that still bring a stuffed animal like a teddy bear or pillow around with them when they travel. Eddie made it abundantly clear that he is not a fan and in fact he hates it and thinks it to be very childish. Ashlee told us that up to a few years ago she had a kitty meow mix stuffed animal, or something stupid like that, that she brought every where with her. We heard from a P-1 man that was 31 and brought a teddy bear around with him and thought that the chicks dug it.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Mikey's Gay Pod today. The first P-1 to call in asked how many songs Mikey had on his I Pod and Mikey told him over four thousand and the P-1 one replied that the first song would be gay. He was right. Its not tough to win in Mikey's Gay Pod, we heard some solo Steve Perry songs and REM along with the un-gay Pantera.

~ Mikey read us an email he received from a P-1 that addressed a situation that we have all been in and some of us are the cause. The letter talk about this P-1's friend's pet and how every time he goes to his buddy's house the dog jumps on him. He went on to say that he was fed up with it and the last time that he went over the dog head butted him in the junk and he instinctively hit the dog. We discussed how some people do not have a clue as to how bad their pets can annoy guests and that they should put the pets away when they have people over or just not have people over at all.

~ During the whole pet debate, Ashlee made a comment about B. Rob and how he treats his dog. B. Rob disagreed and they went at it. Then Mikey brought up the fact that they had been at each others necks all week. They kept at it and started fighting about everything that had been going on between the two of them all week, it was pretty uncomfortable.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Junior Seau retired or "graduated" yesterday. We replayed the entire speech he gave yesterday and broke it down piece by piece. It was interesting to say the least. Junior decided not to use note cards for his speech and to just speak directly from the heart. He did a lot of yelling in his speech and he said that "he is not retiring but he is graduating" what ever that means. He also recited verses from the Bible and then the speech turned into a locker room pep talk where he spoke directly to the younger players in the audience and told them how they should look at the game of football.

~ Sky told us about how she is selling her beach car. The guys always give her junk about having three automobiles so they figured that they finally got to her and she wanted to get rid of it so they would not tease her anymore but that was not true. Sky told us that after doing the remodel they realized how much over their budget they went and that they beach car had been just sitting around do they figured they would sell it to pay for some of the remodel. They were going to sell it to her husbands friend but when her man found out that the friends were going to give it to their daughter he told her he did not want to sell it to them. He did not want their daughter to have a really fast car because she is only 16. Eddie thought that was weird because that car does not have to only go fast.

~ We got a call from P-1 Steve, who is a black man, and he wanted to vent to us. He said that he is dating a white girl but usually when he see's inter-racial couples it consists of a skinny black man and a heavy white chick. He said he was sick of seeing that all the time and wondered if we knew why that was. Mikey and Eddie got all ghetto with him but figured nothing out.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ The new Mikey Show correspondent for the Chargers, Shawn Merriman called into the show today. Shawn will be calling into the show every Monday after the Chargers play.  He is rocking a new hair dew, a mo-hawk, and he told us that he is trying to get the rest of the defense in on it as well. He told us that they all should be rocking the mo-hawk by the first game because that’s how they are rolling this year as a tight unit all on the same page. Mikey asked him about what music pumps him up and he said that the song we played for him when he came onto the show, the P.O.D song Lights Out, made him want to go do sprints.

~ We talked about our trip to Chicago and how Ashlee had some Ashlee moments. We were going out to a fancy dinner one night and Ashlee's dress was completely see thru. Another time when they went to go get pizza and bring B. Rob back some, Ashlee denied giving it to him because he would not give her his last cigarette. Then while going through a rotating door Ashlee got her flip flop stuck and made it a bigger scene then it should have been.

~ B. Rob told us about his experience meeting his girlfriends parents last night. He was really nervous because they a more conservative then he is used to knowing. He told us that he dressed up nice and covered all the tattoo's. He mentioned that he brought the mother flowers as a nice gesture and the flowers were the same she had on her wedding, tiger lilies. The guys made fun of him for the rest of the morning because of that.

~ Dustin Diamond better known as Screech from Saved By The Bell called into the show today. Mikey talked to him about losing his house and had Screech break down exactly what was going on because it’s a really weird situation. Screech told us that the private lender that owned the property decided to tell him to pay the rest of the mortgage off and wanted to collect the 250 grand by 30 days. So Screech is trying to raise money from the public to save the house. It did not make too much sense but when Mikey started hitting him with tougher questions like "why should the public pay for your house when we all have mortgages to pay?" the agent or who ever came on the line and dropped us.

~ We played P-1 Pop Culture Quiz today. Eddie went AGAIN undefeated. He had a couple of tough questions when they got into the kids shows category but our boy pulled it out and now has been undefeated for a while.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played some Puss Rock Juke Box today. One P-1 that called today sang the Alligator song but was not clever with it and needless to say did not win. We did hear a couple of P-1's that killed it one of them sang Harden My Heart. The P-1 men that played today really did love kissable beards and muscular thighs like Sean said.

~ Mikey told us about some one he knew that used to flake on him all the time and that his wife has a few different people in her life that flake on her. Mikey went on to describe the different types of Flakes. There is the build up flake, where once the date is set, they start to flake a few days before by saying they are coming down with something then by the day of the event they are full blown sick. Then there is the day of flakers, who just calls you the day of (or does not call at all) and flakes on the event. Eddie explained to us that he is usually very prompt when it comes to professional events and when its like a house or dinner party he shows up fashionably late.

~ P-1 Ashley called into the show during open phones today to complain to us about her situation. She told us that her and her now husband got married a little over a year ago in Vegas. She said that she did it on the one condition that they would have a big wedding with family and friends as soon as they got the money. It's now been a while and still nothing. She told us that everything else was fine but this really upset her. Sky totally backed this P-1 broad up and said who knows what else this guy could promise and not follow thru with. Then P-1 Ashley's best friend called in and completely bashed her husband on air saying that he is a scum bag and letting every know that he cheated on her before.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played a new P1 game called P-1 Balderdash. It's like the game Balderdash but we play it on air with P-1's. Mikey, Eddie and Sean make up their own definitions to a word and we mix in the real definition with them. The P-1's have to guess which is real. Today's word was Kumkey and the real definition is that it’s a trained female elephant that is used to attract wild bull elephants.

~ Tommy Chong called into the show today. He recently was locked up for 9 months and he told us all about his experience. He made it very clear that he did nothing illegal and that the D.E.A. kept trying to set him up. They charged him with conspiracy to send drug paraphernalia across state lines. He said he found his center and his real essence and got back in touch with God while in the joint. Another interesting fact he told us about was that he has always been a Bible scholar since he was really young, he told us that he had taught Sunday school at the age of 10.

~ While Mikey was talking about how much he appreciated Felicity Huffman and her honesty about her children and how they were not the biggest thing to happen in her life, we got a call from P-1 Karen who was on the same wave length as Felicity. She explained that right now she is going to get her Masters right now and that is more meaningful. She went on to tell us that she loves her kids but they can bore her and do not have the impact that everyone makes having kids out to be. She said that she is number one in her life and that’s how it will always be. A lot of the P-1's that called in to reply to this lady were not a fan of hers but Mikey stuck by her and said he really respected her honesty.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We debuted two new songs on the show today. One was in honor of Sky and her love for the Honey Baked Ham. The song was done by Christina Hamuleira called "Ain't No Other Ham". It is a parody of Christina's new song ain't no other man and it is one of the funniest songs Mikey Show Productions has ever released. The other tune that debuted today was a parody to the All American Rejects song "Move Along" called "Shauna's Gone". It's dedicated to our dedicated boss Shauna who is gone away on vacation right now in Colorado. We Miss you Shauna!

~ We played Low I. Q. today with our Dean's Lister Ashlee. For being on the Dean's list and minoring in English you would think she would know the word "omnipotent" but she didn't. She also did not know how to use "affluent" or "precursor".

~ Josh Lewin stopped by the studio today. He is amping up for the Chargers Season and will be the Chargers Play by Play guy this year. He told us he has just been spending his days memorizing players and getting to know all the adjustments the team has made.

~ Ashlee told Mikey about how when she was young she would get liquid soap in her mouth if she said bad words. This broke out into what happened to everyone when they were young and got punished. Eddie said he got battery acid on his tongue, a P-1 called and said that he would get a Costco Ham on the tongue (unfair shot at Sky), and Mikey told us again that his parents would just leave him home alone while they went on road trips.

~ Mikey told us about a dinner experience he had last night while he was out with his wife. He told us that the server actually sat down at the table with them. He went on to say that sometimes that is fine but there is a line that can be crossed and this waitress crossed it. Eddie told us that he absolutely hates when waitresses do that to him and Ashlee said that she used to be that waitress.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Rabbi Niles Goldstein called into the show today. He is the founder of The New Shule in New York which is a very progressive temple. He gave us his thoughts on Mel Gibson and they were much different then what is being heard in most of the media. He told us that he thinks Mel is really an alcoholic anti-Semite and that we should not be focusing on him but really have our attention on what is going on in the middle east. He also informed us that he is a black belt in karate and that if Mel said that stuff to him, he would of kicked his ass (which Sky was very fond of even though she is against violence).

~ Tough Love with our boy Eddie went down today and today was a special Tough Love dedicated especially to Sky. Today Eddie dealt his Tough Love to a P-1 broad that was about to get separated from her husband because of a fight they got in over a fat joke that Eddie made on air. Then Eddie helped out a P-1 guy that got hit in the nuts during his adult soccer league and was getting made fun of by everyone because he took off work. Finally Eddie had to dole out some more Tough Love to a P-1 guy about to get married and his wife ordered them a mariachi band but neither of them are Hispanic.

~ We played Tone Deaf Karaoke today with our special lady Ashlee. Today was really tough for the P-1's and who can blame them when Ashlee tries to sing songs by Nirvana and The Dave Mathews Band. Ashlee's rendition of Ants Marching sounded like they got a mute to try and sing it. Ashlee also tried to sing I Think We're Along Now.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Mikey's Gay Pod today and what a gay adventure it was. Mikey told us that he had downloaded some new music but we never would of expected that he would download Paris Hilton's song "Stars are Blind". After we all gave him enough guff to make him want to go back into the closet we played Mikey's Gay Pod. We heard some Phil Collins, some Doors and then some song so gay I can not even recall the name or group.

~ Mikey had received an email from a P-1 lady that was pretty upset with her husband. In the email it explained that for her birthday he got her a rug doctor. She had said to him that she wanted a rug doctor but she clearly did not mean for her to get one for her birthday and she was insulted that her man would do that. We got into the topic of when gifts like that are appropriate and if they ever are. Eddie and Mikey both agreed that he had got her a bunches of gifts and that was one of them then it is cool but not just that. We came to the conclusion that guys and ladies differ completely in how they view getting gifts, guys are cool with practical things.

~ Mikey and Eddie got into a bit of doing Pulp fiction lines in their Ashlee impressions. It was hilarious. The guys went off for a solid ten minutes repeating lines in their Ashlee voice then having a full on conversation as Ashlee to Ashlee.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Chris Cornell called into the show today. He is such an interesting person. He opened up to us telling us about writing the first album with Audio Slave and how when he wrote it, it was one of the most miserable times in his life. He said that at the time he was detoxing from alcohol and pain meds. He went on to say he was going out of his mind and had nothing else to do but write lyrics. We also found out that he does not eat breakfast and his first meal is usually lunch if he even gets to that, most of the time his first meal is around dinner time.

~ We had another edition of Mikey's Court today. Today it was a mother going up against her 15 year old daughter. The daughter wanted to get a myspace account but her mother was not letting her because of the sexual predators that are out there and the mother believed that myspace is just a hook up site. The daughters argument was that all of her friends have an account and she just wants to be able to contact her friends. Eddie defended the daughter and Sky took the mothers side. Eddie The Pit-bull won today's case.

~ We played Who Can Sean Beat Now?. Sean was on a roll at first but then Mikey realized that he did not have a button pushed in and had to give a couple of P-1's prizes anyway. Then for the first time ever this P-1 came in with a butt load of confidence and actually beat Sean legitimately, it was crazy. Sean took the reigns back over after Eddie gave him a nice pep talk.

~ Mikey got an email about this P-1 whose wife hated the fact that he was intensely involved with Fantasy Football. She did the whole overly bored thing and it drove him nuts. Mikey said that when you are with someone you have to suck it up sometimes and let them do there thing even if it bugs you. Sky disagreed and thought that if it bugs you then you can let it slide once but you should let them know not to do it again.
