Today on The Mikey Show…

~ DMC from Run DMC came into the studio today. This was one of the most memorable interviews in the history of The Mikey Show. D came in to talk about what he will be doing at Shawn Merriman's comedy show and ended up sharing some the most intense times ion his life with us. He told us about him going through a depression where he was about to kill himself while on tour in Europe. He went on to tell us that when he got back home, he was in the car and heard Sarah Mclachlan's song Angel which empowered him to keep going on. This will be on the pod cast if you missed it, I would finish writing the story but you have to hear it for yourself.

~ Shawn Merriman came into the studio today. He came to talk to us about his Lights On Comedy show that is happening tomorrow. He told us about the line up and how DMC from Run DMC will be rocking the house as well. He told us that he is stoked for this year and the team wants to bring a ring back to San Diego. He talked to us about the    hit on Priest Holmes that ended Priest's career.

~ Mikey had Zeth out waiting in line for him to pick up Mikey an iphone. Mikey is obsessed with getting an iphone and because the lines have already begun around the county, Mikey sent Zeth out to wait for him. We got updates from Zeth all morning on how the line was and we talked to another guy who had been camping out waiting for the phone.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ The Driving Challenge between B. Rob and Ashlee went down today. The first challenge was the weaving in between cones and Ashlee took it, B. Rob screwed it up pretty bad. Then when it came to the parallel parking B. Rob smoked Ashlee, Ashlee hit the cones that were acting as the car. Finally was the Brady Bunch egg on the cone challenge and Ashlee beat B. Rob by 2 and a half inches. Ashlee won the overall challenge and the payoff of B. Rob in a Yankees cheerleader outfit will be next week.

~ We talked about Paris Hilton getting out of jail and listened to the audio of her interview with Larry King. Paris claims to be a new person coming out of jail, she also claims to be smarted but what we heard did not sound too smart. We dissected her interview and her poems that she read for Larry King. 

~ We discussed the Vince McMahon interview and all that is going on surrounding the Chris Benoit case. We heard from P-1's who have taken steroids and what they thought about the ordeal that has gone on. P-1 Evan Marriot, also known as Joe Millionaire, called into the show to comment on steroids. He told us that he took steroids and was training to be a wrestler. You can hear all of it on the pod cast.

~ Carrie Fisher from the show On The Lot called into the show today. She was also Princess Leia in Star Wars but Mikey did not ask about that all and wanted to keep the focus on the show which is way more interesting to him. She was a very real person and told us how the producers of the show have weird politics which she does not understand to the fullest extent.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Today while Mikey was talking about women that are in their late thirties and are not married have something wrong with them. This chick called in actually looking for a roommate for the Cabo Cruise and ended up talking to Mikey about how she is 37 and single and likes it that way. She came down to the studio today so Mikey could interview her. We found out about past relationships and Mikey figured she was into guys that are unattainable. Eddie said she was a beating, which might have had something to do with it. She is now Mikey's experiment and he is going to coach her in how to get a man.

~ The Driving Challenge between Ashlee and B. Rob is going down tomorrow. It is going down at 7 am at the Sports Arena. Mikey announced the types of challenges they are going to have to perform. The first is weaving in between cones, the next is a parallel parking challenge, the final one is the Brady Bunch egg on cone challenge. There is no a bet on the table, if B. Rob loses he has to dress as a Yankees cheerleader saying he loves the Yankees and if Ashlee loses she has to dress like Paris Hilton and have a sign saying Paris is better than her. The loser will also have to be overly nice to the other for a day.

~ Mike announced that the band Switch Foot will be playing in the studio on Monday. They are coming in the studio to play an acoustic set. Mikey explained how he will be wicked nervous because he is such a fan of their music. He told us that one of their songs is him and his wife's' wedding song. 

~ Dr. Phil came on the show today to dish out some of his backwoods advice. We got an email from a P-1 guy who has a real problem with his wife's driving. He said he fears for his life when he has to drive with her and that she has totaled 3 of their cars. Dr. Phil basically bashed women drivers the entire time.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We discussed the tragic and bizarre death of Chris Benoit and his wife and son. We reported on the news as we got a hold of it. WWE wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and son and then took his own life. We talked about what they did on RAW last night for him. Eddie said this tragedy has taken over and will ruin his legacy.

~ We talked about cell phone mishaps, like when you think you have hung up the phone only to find out that the person on the other end was listening in the whole time. We got a ton of calls from P-1's telling stories of ruined relationships from cell phone calls that did not end when they thought they had. A P-1 told us that her man blew up her friends brothers car because he thought she was cheating. Another P-1 told us that her friend thought she hung up and admitted to cheating on her man and getting pregnant with the other guy, it was intense.

~ B. Rob released another cas-single today. B. Rob did a parody song to Robin Thicke's Lost Without You called Lost All My Game. The song is done in falsetto and talks about how he has no game nowadays when it comes to the ladies. It was an instant hit. It will be on The Mikey Show webpage for download. Also, B. Rob and Ashlee will be taking their driving skills to the Sports Arena this Thursday in the 7 am hour to see who is the better driver.

~ We played Wuss Rock Juke Box today. Today the guys did not have a lot of Seacrest in them, they all were pretty straight. One guy sang the lyrics to "We got Tonight" but was not belting it out like he was from Hillcrest.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Dumb Chick Challenge. Today Ashlee finally scored some points, she had only scored 1 point in 4 weeks. She got a 3 pointer correct when she answered what a 360 degree turn in ballet is called. She made up for thinking that the Sears tower was in Italy. B. Rob scored 3 points today and Sky won the whole thing.

~ Mikey got an email from this really upset P-1 about the war. The email talked about how she agreed with Rosie O'Donnell when Rosie called the troops terrorists. She went on to say that they were murderers and how this war is all about getting the government contracts with Haliburton, saying this is a war for oil. We took calls from the P-1's  who were outraged and some P-1's that had the same thoughts as the P-1 that wrote the email.

~ We talked about things we have never admitted to anyone. Mikey told us that he mouth kissed his dog when he was 8 years old. Sky told us that when she was about 12 years old she cut herself to watch herself bleed. Eddie told us that he was diagnosed with panic attacks when he was in his teens. Sean said he smashed his step dads windshield and said it was some thugs. P-1's called in and told us their secrets that they had never told anyone like this P-1 guy who took his ex girlfriends dog after they broke up and set it free in the woods.

~ We played P-1 Trivia today. The P-1's that played today were P-1 Jen and P-1 Sean. Sean knew close to nothing about the show and Jen knew a lot about the show but could not answer the questions Mikey was giving her. P-1 Jen was the only one to get a question correct today so she will be coming into the studio on Friday.

Mikey Show Recap Friday June 22, 2007

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Mr. Craig Gass, comedian and celebrity impersonator, was in studio today. We do a segment with Craig called Craig Gass Theater. We take famous movie scenes and have Craig act them out as a different celebrity. Today we took the scene from Empire Strikes Back and instead of Luke and Vader, we had Craig substitute in Chris Walken for Vader and Sam Kinison for Skywalker.

~ We played Ashlee Pyramid today. Today Sky spoke dingbat really well in the first game where they got all 5 correct but the second game did not go as well. Some of the categories were Jack Black movies, things in a glove box, things on a watch, and one Ashlee could not explain was Rolling Stones songs (she said ice chest, go figure).

~ P-1 Eric the comedian came into the studio today. Mikey announced to him that after hearing some of his stand-up that he emailed us, he will be opening up the comedy show tomorrow night. He told us that the most he had ever performed in front of before was about 200 to 250. Him and Craig talked about some of their worst gigs, Craig telling us about the time a guy in Florida went out to his car to get a gun.

~ John Cusack called into the show today. Craig told us a story about how in Bakersfield he pretended to be Tracey Morgan when Orlando Bloom called in and Orlando went for it. We decided to have some fun with John Cusack and tell him Tom Arnold was now on our show, only Craig would be doing the voice of Tom Arnold. We got John on the line and right away he did not believe that it was the real Tom. The overall interview was pretty uncomfortable but it was really memorable.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ B. Rob went do to the court house to find out "Whatcha Doin' At The Court House?". Today we heard from a guy whose friend was in court because he was stabbed by a homeless person. The ironic part was that the friend was an advocate for homeless people. The second guy we heard from believe he was wrongly pulled over. He had got a DUI and thought that justice was not being served. He explained that when you go out to have a good time you have to get  home some how, he decided to drive drunk. During the interview with B. Rob the guy started hitting on ladies walking by, priceless.

~ We played Who Can Sean Beat Now. Sean really hates Chill town, which is comprised of everyone on the show. Chill town cheered him on so hard today that Sean sabotaged the game at one point and let a P-1 win. We heard songs like "Blister in the Sun" and "I Wanna Know What Love Is".

~ P-1 Emily called us today complaining about her boyfriend and how he is always in some kind of jam concerning his life. She told us that he is always in a tough spot and something is always wrong in his life. She said that she was attracted to B. Rob and Mikey pointed out that B. Rob is the same way meaning she is attracted to that kind of person. P-1's called in to tell her to get out of the relationship.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We had our cookie bake off today. Ashlee had her baking skills challenged by a couple of P-1's today. All three ladies baked some cookies and brought them in today. We did a blind taste test with Mikey, Eddie and Sky as the judges. Ashlee did not win and to add insult to injury, Eddie thought her cookie was the worst saying that it was way too salty. Mikey thought Ashlee's cookies were the best but was out voted and P-1 Dava won the best baker title.

~ We got a call during open phones from this P-1 telling us about how this past weekend something really strange happened to him. He explained that this kid showed up on his doorstep this weekend saying that he was his father. He asked who the mother was and it turned out to be a chick he had hooked up with in college. P1's called to give the guy some advice and to let him know that if the kid is his, he could be responsible for child support.

~ We played P-1 Trivia today. P-1 Josh took on P-1 Lamb chop and it was not even close. P-1 Lamb chop could not answer a single question. Mikey asked if she was a new listener and she said that she had been listening for about 2 years but it did not sound that way. P-1 Josh will be coming in the studio on Friday.

~ We spoke with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. She told us that she had a good idea that she could win the competition as soon as she made it to the final 12. She was very nice and well groomed in her interviewing. When Mikey asked about Sanjaya and if he smoked weed, she said that they had never talked about it. She told us that she has been home schooled for the past two year and will probably keep being home schooled now that she has won American Idol.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Another Dumb Chick Challenge took place today. This is a new P-1 favorite by far. Ashlee, Sky and B. Rob go head to head in trivia to see who is the smartest of the dumbest. Today B. Rob won the contest by answering the question, "what 20th century war is know as the "Forgotten War"?". Some questions that were answered wrong today were, Ashlee thinking that "Old Blue Eyes" was Paul Newman the salad guy and Sky not knowing 3 Ivy League Schools.

~ Bear Grylls, extreme survivalist, from Man vs. Wild called into the show today. He told us that his real name is Edward but eventually through nicknames he is now known as Bear. He said that the worst experience ever for him was in Scotland up in the mountains where they got caught in a bad storm and almost had to call for a search and rescue party to come get them. He said he had to sleep in a rotting deer carcass to stay warm for the night. You can see new episodes of Man vs. Wild staring Bear starting tonight on Discovery.

~ Ashlee took a bunch of criticism from the guys today on her baking abilities. Ashlee takes a lot of pride in her baking but the fellas don't think she is as good as she claims to be. We have 2 female P-1's coming in on  Monday with a batch of their own homemade chocolate chip cookies to put up against Ashlees'.

~ P-1 Felon was in studio today and told us a crazy robbery story about his neighbors nephew. The neighbors took their nephew to Sea World and the child put up a fuss to bring his backpack to the park. They lost the child at the park for a while and when they finally found him brought him straight home. When he got home he locked himself in the bathroom for 45 minutes. When they went to check on him and look in the tub they found a penguin there that the boy had stolen from Sea World.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Tone deaf Karaoke with our special lady Ashlee. Today we heard Miss Ashlee sing some Fresh Prince "Parents just Don’t Understand", along with Alanis Morrisette's Ironic, then some Avril Lavinge and something that got Eddie moving, Limp Bizkit.

~ Comedian and good friend of the show Craig Gass called into the show today. He talked to us about the show he is on Next Best Thing and told us that at the next point in the show he will read a speech he wrote as Al Pacino. When Mikey asked him how good the speech is, he replied that he had put it together that day. Mikey always points out that Craig does not like to take things seriously and Craig told us that he kind of feels nerdy about the show and that he is not a big fan of competitions.

~ We spoke with Jimmy Fallon today. Jimmy has a new song out that is about having a car wash. The proceeds are going to a fund that is for the troops, you can get the song on itunes. He told us that his favorite movie of all time is an old black and white movie called City of Conquest. He told us that he does not care much for the whole Paris Hilton stuff going on right now.

~ Mikey received an email from this P-1 trying to sell him steak knives. He called the guy and asked about the email and it turns out he email Eddie and Sky the same thing, he just cut and pasted the email. Mikey got the P-1 on the phone and gave him his chance to pitch Mikey some knives. The guy was not that good at it and Mikey said he would get a set anyway and donate it to the troops. Then out of no where the three O.J.'s showed up and started making really inappropriate comments. They were talking about opening up their own knives shop and how they were going to kill the competition.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Google Master Challenge where P-1's take on the Google master herself Sky. Today Sky actually took a loss, not once but twice. What made up for it was hearing for the first time a wicked awesome, possibly the greatest, opening theme song for the game.

~ Eddie dished out some more of his Tough Love to San Diegans today. Today Eddie gave his brutally honest Tough Love to a guy whose lady had been freaking out after hearing about the TB story in the news and was really going overboard with her germaphobia. Then he addressed a letter that was not even meant for him and finally gave some advice to a guy who wrote in complaining about his roommate that was eating all his food.

~ We had a Mikey's Court today. Mikey got an email from this P-1 broad telling us that she played fantasy football with the guys in her office and now wants in on the fantasy baseball. The guys won't let her get in on this fantasy league. Eddie "The Pit-bull" took the side of the guys and defended the fellas right to have fun and not have to let a girl play. Mrs. Sky defended the broad and claimed sexual discrimination. The P-1's voted in favor of the Pit-bull after hearing his well thought out case and he won.

~ We broke down Kelly Clarkson's Since You Been Gone. We saw right through Kelly and her B.S. that is written in her song. She talks a big game about how she "can breathe now" that the guy in her life is gone and how she is over him but then has a 3 minute song about it. So we figured maybe she is a little bitter and not over the guy.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Dr. Phil came onto the show today to give us his take on Paris Hilton. A P-1 wrote us says that they liked how we were covering the Paris Hilton story and wondered what Dr. Phil's take on the whole thing was. Dr. Phil told us about his Uncle Nicole Richie and the advice he once gave him. He said Uncle Nicole told him that " it ain't worth doing if you can't throw it up later". Then Dr. Phil started quoting Sister Christian and went on to talk about how bad he wanted to hook up with Paris.

~ We played some of the worst national anthems on the air today. We listened to Roseanne Barr's rendition of the anthem which took place here in San Diego, we heard Michael Bolton, a cop from N.Y. and the best worst one of all Ashlee's Japanese national anthem.

~ We talked about being banned for life from certain places like bars. We brought up Sky being banned from Disney Land because of her roller coaster incident. When she was a teen, her and her dance team all flashed their chests on the roller coaster and was never allowed back. We heard from P-1's who had been banned from a Petco, a taco shop and even a Denny's.

~ During yesterday's show we discussed the peanut free zone that they will have at Petco this year. Mikey was on the fence about how he felt about it and mentioned how he thought it was the wussification of America. Later in the day Mikey got a wicked harsh email from the father of a kid with peanut allergies. We spoke with the guys wife today who made a lot of negative assumptions about the show and tried to persecute Mikey on the air because he was undecided about where he stood on the situation.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ The first Dumb Chick Challenge took place today. Sky, Ashlee and B. Rob went head to head in a trivia challenge to see who was the smartest of the dumbest. We had to shorten the game because no one was getting any questions correct. Some of the questions that were answered incorrectly were: Sky saying that the pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock in 1842, Ashlee not knowing who George Harrison is and B. Rob thinking that beavers lived in a damn.

~ Chris Cornell called into the show today. He talked to us about his solo album and told us that the last thing he does on the album is title the tracks. He told us that the way he came about to cover Billy Jean was that he was just messing around playing the song and people liked it. He said he has messed around with other songs like Hotel California and Little Red Corvette. He told us that he believes he was cut out to be a dad and that his kids will request for him to sing Black Hole Sun to them.

~ We got a call from a P-1 who was wondering what we would think of her situation. She told us that she got hurt skiing and tore her ACL. She was considering marrying her boyfriend of two years for the insurance. She said she was in love but it came across like she wanted the insurance more. Eddie thought that you should never do that and a P-1 commented on it saying that this was why the divorce rate was so high in the country.

~ We played P-1 Trivia today. Today B. Rob could not get good P-1's on the line, he got P-1 Felon, who scares Mikey, and P-1 Deranged who Mikey had to hang up on because she is crazy. We finally got a lady on the line that was not nuts. She ended up losing to P-1 Felon who will be coming in the studio, which makes us all wicked nervous.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Paris Hilton is officially out of jail. At midnight Paris Hilton was released from jail for a medical condition. We listened to the press conference that the L.A. Sheriff's department held on the air this morning. Almost everyone agreed that she bought her way out of jail and that its b.s. that she is allowed to go home with only a house arrest bracelet. Crush-it called in and said that she should of never went to jail in the first place and thinks that her actions only deserved a fine. We took calls from P-1's on their take and actually found a few P-1's that agreed with Crush-it, that Paris should not of went to jail.

~ We played Tone Deaf Karaoke. It was unfortunate that this game got cut short today because of Paris Hilton getting out of jail but we did get to hear a stunningly bad version of Peter Cetera's Glory of Love.

~ We talked about the Akon incident. Akon had something throw at him by a 15 year old kid at his concert and ended up bringing the kid up to the stage only to toss him back into the crowd. Mikey said that the kid was a punk and deserved it. He felt not an once of sympathy for the kid and Ashlee could not have disagreed more. She believed that Akon was sending the wrong message out to everyone and that she felt bad for the kid. She believed it was not even his place to reprimand the kid and that the punishment did not fit the crime.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Probably one of the most uncomfortable things to ever happen on the show today happened. Mikey and Eddie brought up Sky's new book that she has been reading called "The Power of Intention" and how she has been using what she has been reading around the office. It deals with energies like negative energy and how you can avoid it. While the guys were razzing her about the book Sky, for arguments sake, compared it to Mikey and his journey in Christianity. That was a big mistake. Mikey and Sky went at it. It was very uncomfortable for the rest of the show.

~ We spoke with the real Sanjaya from American Idol today. This was possibly one of the weirdest interviews to ever go down on the show. Mikey kept trying to ask him about the show and he was half answering questions. We could hear things in the background and when Eddie addressed it he told us he was just chilling in his room. Mikey said that he thought Sanjaya might be high. P-1's called in and agreed that he might be high or maybe huffing paint.

~ We played "Who Can Sean Beat Now?". The stress and pressure of Chill town, Sean's fan base on the show, really took him over today. He half stuttered his name during the first song and it threw everyone off. He went on to win but sounded so defeated every time. We heard some of his favorites like Duran Duran.

~ B. Rob and Ashlee got into it over how bad of a driver Ashlee is. They were driving together the other day and Ashlee drove in the opposite direction down the road. B. Rob says he is terrified anytime he has to get in the car with her but Ashlee insists that she is a good driver. Mikey suggested that they has a driving competition to see who is the better driver.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Puss Rock Juke Box today. We heard some great singing from the guys today but the judges were not in the contestants favor. Sky did not like a P-1's performance because of his name and Sean was way too critical because he loved the song so much. He heard the songs Jump For My Love, In Too Deep, and must have been Love.

~ We were talking about how close Eddie's wedding is and how Mikey will be giving the best man speech and we got into the topic of the worst best man speeches. Mikey and Eddie had compiled a bunch of bad speeches they had found on You Tube and we listened to them. They were horrible speeches with bad jokes sprinkled in every so often. We took calls from P-1's on their weird, uncomfortable and worst best man moments.

~ We discussed whether or not women should be allowed to cut their hair. We started talking about how guys don’t want their ladies to chop their hair off because it can effect the relationship. Sky and Ashlee both tried to argue the fact that you should love the lady no matter what but Mikey and Eddie tried to tell them that a drastic change like that can really screw with a guys perspective on his woman.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Ashlee loves giving Bobby a hard time over things he has messed up and they got into it again today. Ashlee explained to us that Bobby does not listen to her and she has to tell him things repeatedly for them to get done. Today Ashlee told us that she asked him to CC her on an email which he didn’t and he said that it was because he did not know whether to put a semicolon or comma when putting two people on the cc part of the email. Eddie said that it was poetic justice for all the times he has to deal with Ashlee.

~ We talked about the people that hate the people that wears sports jerseys. Some people think its fine to wear a team jersey at the game but no where else. Eddie and B. Rob think its okay to rock jerseys where ever when ever. Crush-it does not think you should wear a sports jersey ever and called in to say that its wrong because you did not achieve the things that the player did and should not wear the jersey. He also added that he thinks people that wear jerseys are trying to be that player.

~ We played P-1 Trivia today and P-1 Yeska Tribe was beaten out by P-1 Mary. Some of the questions that the P-1's had to answer were "who referred the mud wrestling match at Hooters, what two nationalities are Sky, What was Mikey's radio name while at a AC station and what is the name of The Mikey Show's second best of CD?"

~ We played P-1 Pop Culture Quiz today. Eddie had some trouble in today's competition. The first contender picked the Beatles for the category. Eddie took a wild shot in the dark for his first question and luckily got it correct but then lost in the tie breaker. Then he lost to the next contestant in the category of Cancelled TV Shows. He finally came back at the end to get a win.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We reviewed the final two Apprentices last challenge today. Their challenge was an on air shift that went down on Monday. We listened back to both Jess' and Zeth's breaks and nothing was to impressive but mediocre for having no experience. Our favorite parts of Jess' breaks was when she messed up because it kind of showed us her personality and Zeth was a little more personable but seemed to rush to get through the break. Eddie gave a slight edge to Jess in the competition and Sky gave a slight edge to Sky so Mikey made the final decision with no help form either of them. Mikey fired Jess and hired Zeth. Zeth is our new weekend Jock.

~ We talked about weird first dates that people have had but ended up staying together and got married. Mikey told us about his uncle going on a date with his aunt and she stabbed herself in the gums with a chip and started bleeding everywhere. P-1's called in and told us about there weird and awkward experiences like one guy that clogged his lady's toilet on the first date. Another guy was set up on blind date and while setting up a trail of roses for his date he got jumped and when she found him she called 911 and stayed at the hospital for 3 days with him.

~ Sky was wrong a whole lot today on the show. She tried to tell us that Seth Rogan the star of Knocked Up was the creator of The 40 Year Old Virgin but Eddie the King of Pop Culture knew better and told her the truth. Sky has a hard time of accepting the fact that she is wrong sometimes. She was also wrong this morning while talking about directions and where North is in comparison to where we are in the building. She would not admit that she was wrong in fact she said that her and who ever it may be arguing with her were both right.
