Today on the Mikey Show…

Today, the two winners of our P-1 Trivia game we played came into the studio today and hung out with us during the show. We were also brought food by Rainmaker Catering, which is run by two P-1s.

We got an E-mail from P-1 Beth that we shared on the air today. Beth’s friend’s boyfriend confronted her with an issue he had with his girlfriend. When they met up to speak about it, he had brought a bottle of wine and asked her if she had been cheating on him. She came to us confused on what his intentions were by coming to her with such an issue. We felt that the bottle of wine was the signifier that sent the scene into question, since there was no other reason for him to have it, unless he wanted to set the scene…

We gave away our last of five Apple MacBooks that we were going away all this week. Today, P-1 Shane won with her story that seemed to be consistent across the board of winners: Viruses had struck her system. Shane had sent in her PC to get repaired over five times, with a new problem arising each time. She didn’t want to have to take her computer in anymore, and she won’t now that she has won herself a new Apple MacBook laptop.

We played P-1 Price is Right today. We have had so much going on in the last week that we pushed it back until today. P-1s played against each other in a game of The Price is Right. Today, the winner, P-1 won tickets to the Good Guys Car Show this week.

Today on the Mikey Show…

Comedian Bobby Lee was in the studio today. We talked to him about his involvement in the feud between Carlos Mencia and Joe Rogan. Bobby, apparently, talked to Joe about three years ago and filmed the conversation of Bobby cracking jokes at Carlos behind his back. Joe then played the clip for Carlos while outing him on stage for stealing material. Bobby explained that it was a very tough situation, because Carlos was a good friend of his and did a lot for him and his career in the past. When Carlos saw the clip in question, he called and left an extremely angry message on Bobby’s machine. He said, also, that he and Joe have no hard feelings about it towards each other. Bobby is also in a new movie called Kickin’ It Ol’ School.

We recapped the date made from P1 Love Connection yesterday. P-1 Megan went on a date with P-1 Nate last night, and both seemed to have had a great time… until Eddie discovered some fascinating news: After the show yesterday, P-1 Megan e-mailed B Rob and asked him if they were still up for seeing the new Will Farrell movie this weekend. Rob denied any personal involvement and both him and Megan failed to see any wrongdoing in the situation. B Rob, as Mikey stated, is a scoundrel, which he defined on air as “a wicked or evil person; someone who does evil deliberately.”

We gave away two more Apple MacBooks today. Last week, P-1s sent in their horror stories to Mikey, who read the winning submissions on air. One of the winners, P-1 Jeff, called in, and explained his situation in a little more depth. Jeff was in a punk band before getting into a car accident and spending time in the hospital. After he was released, he wanted nothing more than to finish up some of the past songs he had recorded on his PC only to realize that all of his files had been corrupted from a virus. Nothing was retrievable. To make matters more difficult, Jeff’s wife also suffered a stroke in the accident, and a seizure she experienced last week almost damaged her baby, whom she is two months pregnant with. A new computer, and a little peace of mind, is the least we could do to help.

The Mikey Show Recap 3-28-07

We spoke a little about American Idol early this morning. As of today, Sanjaya is still on the show. We’re still trying to figure this one out… but we have some theories. Sanjaya is someone that America hates to love. American Idol has become somewhat of an interesting experiment, since more and more, we’re seeing worse contestants make it further. The odd thing about Sanjaya is that he isn’t horrible. He’s not great, but he’s not comparable to the likes of William Hung, either… No one is really sure why he’s still on, but we’ll keep checking… Evanescence lead singer, Amy Lee, gave her thoughts on Idol, yesterday, as well; stating that she believed Idol to be the downfall of the record industry. We don’t agree with her… we just think its fun.

We played our weekly version of P-1 Love Connection today. P-1 Megan came into the studio and asked three P-1s who were on the phone a series of questions about themselves. P-1 Nate, P-1 John, and P-1 Chuck were selected from our website entries to be the eligible bachelors. P-1 John, sensing the competition hung up on us, “conceding” his place on the show. “Its okay,” said P-1 Megan, “I wasn’t going to pick him anyways.” Well, then…. I guess that saves some time. After a scrupulous interrogation process, P-1 Megan picked P-1 Nate to be her date tonight. The two will be going to the House of Blues tonight, and we will check back on them tomorrow morning to see how it went.

We received an e-mail from a female P-1 who was in a situation. Her boyfriend, whom she’d been dating for 8 years, told her that he had found someone whom he had felt a connection with. She said that he had openly discussed this with her and that she was confused on whether or not she should try and convince him to stay with her. A number of P-1s chimed in with similar stories, including P-1 Kelley, who said that her ex-fiancé had told her the same story, but that they eventually reconciled and are still together. The P-1 who wrote the e-mail eventually called in and told us a little more about the story. She was very distraught, as we had to convince her that this whole situation was for the best, because she deserved someone who wanted to be with her.

Mikey started the show off by stating his preference for Shortbread Cookies… Immediately, this started off an interesting debate between us about our favorite cookies. Eddie mentioned that the “Oreo” is the best cookie because it incorporates two cookies in one. It’s the only cookie that you can split in half, and still have two full cookies!

The Chargers girls stopped in today to talk about their upcoming Chargers Girl auditions that will be held this coming weekend. The two girls, Brianna and Ashley, said that auditions will start on the 31^st of March, and that the criteria for trying out only involves that you are female. There is no age or weight requirement. Sky confused us be asking the girls if auditions will include the necessity of “bringing your own 8-count,” which is dancer slang for “bringing your own routine.” Mikey and Eddie mentioned that she didn’t need to show them up because just because Sky used to be in Dance classes.

We read an E-mail from a P-1 who had a story about a flight that he went on recently. A girl in her early 20s sat next to him and smuggled her Chihuahua on the plane with her. She said that the dog wouldn’t be much trouble because she gave him sedative drugs to calm him down. Well, to put it lightly, the dog’s digestive system didn’t take the drugs very kindly, and before he could say Jack Russell, the dog made a mess all over the girl’s lap. P-1s called in and told their airline horror stories, including one from P-1 Autumn who told a story about how, during a flight on a small plane, she discovered that the flight attendant who had been scooping out ice cubes for drinks with his bare hands, had no way of washing his hands after he went to the bathroom…

The movie “Grindhouse” is coming out soon and we begin to talk about the two people directing it, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Mikey mentioned that although he enjoys most of Tarantino’s work as a director, he hates him as an actor. Immediately following this, Crush-It, from our sales department stopped into the studio to dispute this with Mikey. They got in a clash over who was right, and eventually calmed down with Mikey talking to Crush-It about how he fits his 6’6” frame into the teeny little bicycle shorts he saw him wearing the other day.

Elizabeth Hasselback, from “The View,” called in today. We spoke with her about a number of different issues, including her religious beliefs. We also asked her how she finds it bearable to converse with Rosie O’Donnell on the show, with Rosie butting in all the time. Elizabeth explained that Rosie is simply passionate about her beliefs, and that off-air they remain good friends, despite their differences.

Within the new CD releases today, Mikey mentioned a pet peeve he has with people who listen to Indy music; the type of person who listens to certain musicians simply because they are uncommon and different, and not because their music is in anyway considered good. Slightly on the same subject, Mikey spoke about the artist, Mika, who has probably one of the gayest songs he’s ever heard… but he finds it catchy and irresistible. Bobby Kernels agreed with Mikey, while Eddie and Sean couldn’t stop laughing at the femininity of his voice as we played his current single, “Grace Kelley.”

Today on the Mikey Show

Early on, Sky mentioned that she often will make up choreographed music videos for songs that she hears. Her pride was a video written for Gwen Stefani’s song, “Wind it Up,” where the dancers are dressed up like wind-up dolls that dance to the music. Eddie chimed in, stating that her idea for “wind it up” with “wind up dolls” is probably the most un-original thing that he’d ever heard. The duel went on for the course of the show; later on, Eddie compared the idea to someone coming up with using purple-colored rain in the “Purple Rain” video.

We played P-1 Pop Culture today. In this game, P-1s go up against Eddie in a trivia game involving pop culture. Every P-1 except P-1 Alfonzo got annihilated by Eddie. P-1 Alfonzo answered a Lord of the Rings tie breaker question and won tickets to go see the Good Guys Car Show.

The late Anna Nicole’s autopsy was today, and we listened in to the press release done by ### about what her cause of death was. ###’s accent was extremely thick; it was hard for anyone to understand him. Curious of what nationality he was, we challenged Sky to find out such a trivial fact. Not more than 30 seconds later, Sky tells us that he is Romanian. Sky is the Google Master. Honestly, listening to just the audio, all any of us could picture was Dracula in front of a galley of Press Conference mics reading from a script. By the end of the conference, we had probably made about a hundred different vampire references, and from now on, are going to have a hard time hearing that voice and not thinking of Prince Vlad… ah, children of ze night…

We received an E-mail from a P-1 who explained that his brother, who is 35, is moving back in with his parents. This brought up an interesting topic of whether or not, under any circumstances, it is okay to live with your parents after you’ve passed your mid-20s. A number of P-1s called in and related to this story; either one’s who had a family member who did the same, or they themselves were the ones who moved back in. One P-1 had a father who still lived with his parents at the age of 42! Another one called and said that she dated a guy who was in his 30s and lived with his parents. They still did his laundry, bought his clothes, and even gave him money for them to go out on dates with!

Today we have away our first of five Apple Mac books that we will be giving away this week. As you probably recall, last week we announced for p-1s to send in their PC horror stories to Mikey, and we would pick the story that touched us the most. P-1 Airianna wrote in that, while giving a PowerPoint presentation to upper faculty members at the School District she works for, a virus that had been on her computer started flashing up inappropriate pop-ups to the point in which she had to unplug her computer. After plugging it back in, she found it unable to boot up, and lost her extensive list of grades for all of her classes.

We also played P-1 Trivia today, where P-1s call in and play a trivia game devoted to questions about The Mikey Show. P1 Matt went up against P1 Krysta in a “best out of five” tournament, however, both P-1s tied at the end with 5 out of 5 for each! We decided to make an exception and let both of them come into the show and hang out in the studio this Friday.

Mikey Show Recap 3-23-07

Today on the Mikey Show…

We began the show talking about the pet food recall that has being going on recently. Most of the food involved is wet food in cans and pouches, which Mikey brought up as being "trashy" food to feed your pet. This brought up a number of issues that we spoke about, including the idea of putting pet food on or in human food containers. Sky brought up that she usually uses a paper plate to feed her cat's food on and also mentioned that she uses a plastic cup to rinse her razor in when shaving. Mikey reminded Sky that the use of so many disposable items was interesting for an environmentalist liberal to be mentioning. Sky didn't bother responding.

Mikey brought up a question that we were throwing around the other day about how far some people would travel to get food. P1s called in with their travel stories; some went up to LA for Sonic Burgers, others went to Arizona for taco shops, and Rob mentioned that he would travel as far as he needed to for a Dunkin' Donuts, because there weren't any in San Diego. Rob said that he has searched everywhere, from asking P1s to Googling the Internet, with no luck on any San Diego locations. A P1 called in and said he knew where one was, but before we could get to him, we lost the connection. Unfortunately, now Rob will never know…

P1 Jess, the winner of P1 Trivia this week, won a chance to hang out in the studio today, and stayed mostly quiet until she mentioned to Sky that she had brought her a present. Sky then opened up an envelope to reveal a thoughtful $20 gift certificate to the Honey baked Ham store. After much harassment from Mikey and Eddie for such a gift, Sky calmly stated that "It's the thought that counts" which shocked us because we weren't implying that it was a bad gift…

We opened up the phone lines to P1s and received an interesting call from a female P1 who was furious about her sister's wedding. Her sister was getting married in the Caribbean at the Atlantis hotel and expected her to spend thousands of dollars to make it there less than two months from now. P1s called in and gave their 2 cents about whether or not it was a means of filtering out the wedding party to make sure only those who truly wanted to be there could go. Even in silent protest from the earlier gift card incident, Sky attempted to chime in though any means necessary, in this case through Internet chat.

We got a call from NFL superstar, Reggie Bush, with whom we spoke to about career highlights and future career moves. Reggie also spoke about an organization he is affiliated with called Camp 619, which provides a free non-contract boys and girls foot ball program for youth between the ages of 7 and 17.

Ashlee stopped in briefly before she leaves for her Rehabilitation Clinic. In case you missed it, she will be there for most of next month, with Boston Rob temporarily filling in for her and Bobby Kernels filling in for B Rob. We wish her the best of luck and hope that her experience is a positive one.

P1 Pop Culture Quiz

Mikey Show Recap 2-22-07

We talked briefly about a recent story that we have followed as new information comes up about comic, Carlos Mencia, and accusations of stealing material from other comics. This time, the clip was from a 1983 recording of Bill Cosby compared to a 2006 clip by Carlos Mencia. After hearing both jokes, we agreed that the similarities are just way to close to call it a coincidence.

We followed up on the P1 Love Connection that we setup on yesterday's show. We spoke with P1 Laura, but could not, unfortunately, get a hold of her date, P1 Kevin. Laura claimed that the date went well, but there just wasn't that "certain something" there that she was looking for.

American Idol kept Indian singer, Sanjaya, for one more week on last nights show. This really got the show thinking that there must be something up for him to stay on the show as long as he has. Some ideas included the fact that he is will loved in by Indian communities, and is also getting votes directly from India. Also responsible is most likely VoteForTheWorst.com, which pleads visitors to vote against the American Idol standard and vote for the worst singers rather than the best. Also, we had an argument about a 13 year old fan who was seen in the front row crying hysterically about seeing Sanjaya. Sky mentioned that, even for a 13 year old, crying like a freak over an American Idol (and not even a good one at that) for over an hour is means to get this girl's head checked for damage. Mikey and Eddie defended the 13 year old by comparing it to any one of the many pieces of Beatles and Elvis footage that we have where girls are hysterical in the front row for being able to see them perform.

Today on the Mikey Show…

Mikey shared a story that happened to him yesterday in a parking lot. As he parked his car, he noticed that the minivan parked next to him had no one inside it, but was running with the keys in and the doors unlocked… Wait, did I say there was no one inside? Oh, then I forgot to mention the BABY strapped into the back seat!! We then dismantled the psyche of someone who would leave her infant… in a car… with the doors unlocked… and running, and we concluded that some type of mental condition must be involved. P1s called in with their stories and thoughts on the subject, including one who tried to explain that with Idaho plates, the mother may not be used to the threat of someone stealing their child. Bottom line, though, anywhere in the world, San Diego, Boise, Oz… leaving your children alone in public to go get yourself a frappuccino just isn't kosher.

We formed a match made in a suburb of heaven today on the P1 Love Connection. P1 love connection lets a female P1 come into the studio and ask questions to three male P1s on the phone. Out of the three guys who signed up on our website, the lovely P1 Laura picked P1 Kevin as her date at Poway Sushi Lounge tonight.

We also played P1 Trivia today. P1s called in and dueled against each other in a no-holds five round bout to the death… in Mikey Show trivia. P1 James went up against P1 Jess. Both were neck and neck, but P1 Jess triumphed against all odds and won tickets to the screening of "Blades of Glory" starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder.

In the news today, we gathered 'round the microphones and Sky told us a story about a new "glass-bottomed" horseshoe-shaped walkway called the "Skywalk" (no, she didn't name it). The sky walk extends 70 feet outward from a Cliff side and, for a $25 fee, allows visitors to walk out into the grand canyon and look straight down into it. The $40 million project caused Mikey and Eddie to question the safety of such an odd structure.

The Mikey Show and Apple Computers will be holding a contest to P1s who have horror stories about their PCs. Those with the best stories will each day next week be given a Macbook, provided by Apple!

Mikey Show Recap 3-20-07

~ Today on the Mikey Show we announced that Ashlee would not be joining us for the rest of the week due to a situation on yesterday's show. Without getting into extreme detail, Ashlee slept in during what was supposed to be a best-of show on Monday. Shauna called up Mikey threatening to fire her for these actions, but Mikey told her to talk with Ashlee first before making such a rash decision. Ashlee admitted to Shauna that she may have a drinking problem, and would seek some professional help. In light of this, Shauna suspended her for one week with the condition that she find a rehabilitation center. This week, Boston Rob will be temporarily replaced by Bobby Kernels, as Rob covers her position. We all wish Ashlee the best of luck, and hold her in our prayers as she recovers.

~ P1 Matt called up to complain about his fiancé, P1 Jamie, and her family's overbearing involvement in their wedding. P1s called in with similar stories about family members taking the spotlight in weddings, pulling it away from the bride. Some P1s suggested that a family who is overbearing during the wedding will also continue these practices during the course of the marriage, until it falls apart under their hands.

~ A P1 listener sent us an old clip from The Mikey Show back in 2003. Ted Nugent called up and spoke with Sky about the positive effects of hunting… This is a kind way of saying they had an on-air brawl where Sky got tormented for her liberal views by Ted, who, in his defense, made some very convincing statements about the importance of the hunter's role in our current habitats.

~ Mark Wahlberg called in this morning to talk about his new movie, Shooter, in which he playa an ex-marine sniper who is rehired to stop an assassination attempt on the president, but instead gets shot, himself, and must find out who was responsible. Being a huge P.T. Anderson fan, Mikey talked to Mark about his role in Boogie Nights, as well as some of the key films that led him to this point in his career, mainly The Departed.

Mikey Show Recap Friday March 16, 2007

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Eddie and B. Rob had a slam dunk show down today. March Radness as we called it took place where Eddie and B. Rob each got to show case three dunks and P-1's came to judge the slams. B. Rob had a tough start to the competition, it took him about 6 tries to finally get his second dunk completed called the "Lazy Boy" while Eddie had killed it right before him with a slam dunk while slapping a P-1 Sticker on the backboard. The finale was wicked sick on both ends. Eddie jumped over Sky and dunked it and B. Rob jumped off the bench over Nick from promotions, slapped a sticker on the backboard all while yelling "Ham". Eddie won the competition though.

~ We talked to this guy who had started up a website called Kizzmeet.com. The concept is that if you see someone who sparks your interest at a grocery store of maybe at the gym and don't get their number, you go to this website and post where and when you saw them and hope that they see the post and respond. It seemed like much to find someone and you have to consider that the other person has to know about the site but it just might work and I might hit the lottery.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Tone Deaf Karaoke today. Today we heard possibly one of the worst versions of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors, Ashlee sang it so bad that Mikey refused to play it twice. Then we heard some U2 "With or Without You", and some Sublime and Nelly's Hot in Here.

~ Stephen Lynch was in studio today. HE told us about getting the Broadway gig "Wedding Singer" and how he would show up before every performance about 3 hours early and he would play poker with all the guys. He said he is glad that it is over because of the rough schedule they had doing 8 shows a week. He sang us a few of his songs like My Girlfriend is a Nazi and The Black Girl Song. If you missed it, the segment is up on the pod cast.

~ We picked the judges for the March Radness Competition tomorrow. We have four judges lined up for tomorrow's slam dunk competition between Eddie and B. Rob. It is going down in back of the station at 7 in the am.

~ Miss U.S.A. Tara Conner called into the show today. She talked to us about going through rehab and how she was in denial about her problem. She said for all those who think it was a publicity stunt, they can believe what they want to believe. She told us that her and Trump are BFF's now.

~ We recapped P-1 Love Connection today. P-1 Jake and P-1 Jen really enjoyed each others company and told us that they closed the Sushi bar down last night. They both said that they were interesting in seeing each other again and they exchanged numbers and even a kiss at the end of the date.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Sky does not appreciate her husband. After yesterday and the endless harassment Sky received from forgetting her husbands birthday, her and the guys got into it again today. This time it started from an email from this P-1 broad that wrote how she might not appreciate or not do as much for her man as he does for her. Mikey and Eddie said that it is not normal to expect a toast from your spouse and then posed the question "what does Sky do for him?", she replied with "open his mail". The fight took up a healthy portion of the show.

~ P-1 Jake called us today with some concern for his good friend P-1 Kevin. P-1 Jake told us that his boy had this "friend" of his that is a broad and they are NOT together but act like they are (i.e. hold hands, go on dates, cuddle). He told us that his boy is practically in love with her but she is kind of keeping him around as a security blanket. We got his boy P-1 Kevin on the line and Kevin denied it but admitted to doing all of the things a couple would do including telling us he was taking her to the movies this weekend. Mikey and Eddie tried to tell this poor sap to get out of that situation and ditch her but he was not having it. We are going to try to get the broad on tomorrow.

~ Mikey read us an email about pre-nups today. P-1 Nerdy guy wrote Mikey telling him recently his boy went on a date with a broad and on the first date he asked her how she felt about pre-nups. She was offended and thought he was calling her a gold digger. Mikey then posed the question when is it appropriate to pop the pre-nup question. We got calls from P-1's on when they brought it up and when they thought it was ok to bring it up.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ Sky forgot her husbands birthday. Sky not only celebrates her half birthday but also celebrates her birthday week and birthday month. She is the epitome of birthday celebrators. We have a P-1 party this Friday which also happens to be Mr. Sky's birthday. Sky forgot that it was his birthday and gave the ok for the P-1 Party. To make matters worse it is his 30th birthday. The guys let her know what a monster she was because of this and would not let it go, in fact Eddie is still not friends with Sky because of this.

~ Mikey announced the P-1 Party that is going on this Friday. This Friday March 16th at Dave and Busters, we are having a VIP P-1 Party. It will kick off at 4pm and go until 6. For the first hour the only way to be there is if you win a spot. The first hour is a buffet and chillin with The Mikey Show plus you get a power card.

~ We played P-1 Trivia today. Today P-1 Marquessa won the chance to come into the studio on Friday. In P-1 Trivia they had to answer question like "What item was stolen from Ashlee when she asked her friend to watch it for her?", What television show theme song did Boston Rob write two songs to?" and "What clique did Sean hang out with in High School?".

~ Andy Garcia called into the show. He talked to us about the movie he directed called Lost City. He also wrote the score to the movie. Mikey played a track off of the soundtrack and Andy told us that it was actually him playing the piano on that track. Andy is Cuban and shared with us that he was born in Cuba in 1956. He wanted to stress to the youth that with hard work and determination you can succeed.

~ We played P-1 Balderdash. We learned that A.L. Butts is not an NFL player who tackled his own player in a game but is a man who tried to breed a 3 foot grasshopper. That there is a law in Boston that says you can not participate in a frog jumping contest in a night club. Finally we learned that the word slurvian is actually a dialect of slurring words for example the word "gimme".

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Ashlee Pyramid today. Today while trying to describe practical jokes she said "putting poop in your dogs shoe", then when trying to describe the catergory countries in Europe she said London, and to top it all off for the category state capitols Ashlee said New York City.

~ Next week Eddie and B. Rob will have another athletic competition. In honor of March Madness, they are going to have a slam dunk competition. The guys started busting on B. Rob becasue they said there is no way he will be able to dunk because of his height. Eddie and B. ROb will have a mini trampoline to use to dunk and P-1's will judge the contest.

~ P-1 Ryan was in studio today. He won the P-1 trivia this past week and got to observe the show. During one of the breaks when Sky was talking about her ham burrito, he repeated the word ham and upset Sky to the point that she wanted to beat him with her shoe. Mikey then retold the ham joke story. If you missed it, it is on the podcast.

~ We got a call from P-1 Carie who was wicked upset over what she had done to her husband. She told us that her husbadn has wanted kids and knew this even before they got married. The problem was that Carie knew that she could not have kids because of medical reasons but never told her man because she thought that he would not marry her if he knew. She told him last night and he took off on her. She called us in tears wondering if what she did was wrong. Eddie thought she was a monster for lying to her man about it and Mikey was a little more compassionate for her situation. P-1's called to give advice and share similar stories.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We had a recap on P-1 Love Connection today. P-1 Alicia and P-1 Mark went to Poway Sushi and we heard back from both of them today. They both agreed that the date was fun and they liked each others company but we got the vibe that they went not too excited about it. They said that they exchanged numbers and want to see each other again. Then later in the show Ashlee told us that Mark had been emailing her earlier in the week saying that he had a girl he was already dating and even joked about dating Ashlee. We got him on the line and he said that he was only dating her and they were not exclusive and he had not talked to that girl in 5 days.

~ Mikey got his nose hair waxed. P-1 Keri came into the studio today to do a job a little out of the ordinary. Mikey told us that to prepare for the nose hair waxing he picked his nose clean in the shower this morning. Eddie asked why not use a Kleenex and he said it was not as fun. On air, Mikey had hot wax put in his nose and ripped out then got a trim for the left over hairs. It was disturbing to watch, Sean was horrifically disgusted.

~ Mikey read us this email today. It came from P-1 "Emily" and she wrote that she as upset with her fiancé because he kept in contact with a girlfriend ( a girl that is a friend of his). She told us that the girlfriend has nicknames for him and she wants them to not be in contact with each other anymore. We got her and the fiancé on the phone and Mikey gave them both some advice. He told the dude that he has to let the woman have her way and that its not healthy for the relationship having another chick friend to talk to about things instead of talking to his lady. P-1's called in with stories of similar things they had gone through and gave advice on the subject.

~ We played Tone Deaf Karaoke today. Today we heard Ashlee kill it with Naughty By Nature's O.P.P., some Jane's Addiction, and some No Doubt.  We noticed something interesting about Ashlee, she will sing the music parts along with the words.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played Wheel of Accents today. This is the game where we spin the wheel and whatever accent it lands on the P-1 has to talk for a few seconds or so in that particular accent. Today we heard a guy do a really good Jamaican accent and heard from another P-1 which Mikey said is his new favorite thing when a Mexican man does a Southern redneck Accent.

~ Mikey got an email from P-1 April about her friends house that is a disaster zone. Mikey got this email explaining P-1 April's friends house and how there were plates with food still on them everywhere, clothes everywhere and they had ants in the bathroom and kitchen. They also have a dog goes to the bathroom in its crate on pads and they leave it there for days at a time. She wanted Mikey's advice on how to tell them that they need to get their act together. We got calls from other P-1's of places they had witnessed that were disgusting.

~ We had another attempt at love in P-1 Love Connection. P-1 Alicia was in studio today to find a date. She is 26, from San Diego and is got out of a relationship this past Super Bowl. She asked the guys question like: have you ever cheated on someone, how long their longest relationship was, if they cook and what their dish they love to cook is, and what would be a great getaway for a three day weekend. She ended up picking a fill-in, P-1 Mark, who got the chance to play because one of the guys did not answer the phone (it might be fate hooking them up).

~ WWE Wrestler and Author Mick Foley. He talked to us about having his ear ripped off accidentally in a wrestling match and how some chicks think that is sexy. We found out that the most famous person in his cell phone besides WWE Diva Trish Stratus is Carlos Beltran. Mick is also a 2 time N.Y. Times Best selling author and said that he got a letter from Billy Corgan telling him that his books had a great impact on him.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played P-1 Price is Right today. The wager got bigger on today's game. Usually we play for breakfast but today we played for the loser to have to buy dinner at the Olive Garden. The P-1's had to guess at things like a Timex Watch, a GPS, Boxers, Tummy Butter, and Bath salts. It ended up being a tie and the wager will carry over to next week.

~ Ashlee told us about her sister being a wicked brat because she is not going to be in her brothers wedding. Ash's sister wants to stand with the ladies at her brothers wedding and will not let up about it. She explained to Ash that it has been a dream for her to be in his wedding. The bride has 3 sisters that will not even be in the wedding but it meant nothing to Ashlee's sister. This lead us into talking about how Sky wants to be in Eddie's wedding standing on the guys side. Eddie would never have it and told Sky that B. Rob would be an alternate if anything. Sky was offended because her and Eddie have been friends longer. Mikey posed the question "what if Sky was getting married today, would she have Eddie stand on the ladies side in her wedding?". Sky said yes (probably to help her argument) and Eddie kindly decline. He said he would not want to be humiliated by standing with the ladies.

~ We played P-1 Trivia today. Today P-1 Ryan absolutely smoked P-1 Meghan. He was even getting her questions correct. They had to answers questions like "what animal is Eddie afraid of?" and  "What is the name of the doctor that Sky's mom worked with to abolish food coloring?" Which we don't even know his real name but P-1 Ryan got real close.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We played P-1 Pop Culture today. Today Eddie told us that he was not feeling it and thought he might take a loss today but held up and smoked all three P-1's. Today the topics were James Bond, where Eddie explained he was not the biggest fan of them but still nailed his question and the P-1's question, Entertainment in Sports, and Animation.

~ Rulon Gardner called into the show today. He was in the news the other day because of the amazing story of him surviving in the wild. He was involved in a plane crash where the plan crashed right into the middle of a lake. He told us that the crashed about 2 miles in the middle of the lake and they had to swim through hypothermic water for 2 hours to get to shore. He talked to us about making it thought the night and that you decide whether or not to give up on yourself and let yourself die. He told us that his fear of death has subsided.

~ Mikey told us about this past weekend when he was at the mall and mistaking called this lady's baby girl a boy. He could not believe that he did that and said that he would be wicked upset if any one called Jake a girl. P-1's called in telling us about being mistaken for the opposite gender. This one P-1 told us that he is a counselor in the summer and they had a chick in the boys cabin for three days before they figured out she was a girl. Mikey posed the question, which is worse a guy being mistaken for a girl or girl being mistaken for a guy?.

Today on The Mikey Show…

~ We spoke with P-1 Jill and P-1 Macario today. They were hooked up on P-1 Love Connection earlier this week and went on a date Wed. night. Jill told us that the date went really well and she was interested in seeing Macario again. Macario brought her flowers and even pumped her gas on the way to the bar (which was after the date). Macario said that the date went well but when asked if he was attracted to her, he could not directly answer. We found out that she is not his type.

~ Whatcha Doin At The Court House? B. Rob went downtown to the court house and talked to some people, we listened back to the audio. The first guy was a crazy homeless man that stands outside the court everyday and yells / preaches to people. It was hard to understand what he was saying because most of it made no sense. Then we heard from a few different people that were testifying against cops because they were wrongly accused.

~ Sky told us earlier this week about a fight she had witnessed when she went out to dinner last weekend. We are just starting to hear about this fight in the news because the guy involved is now on life support and they might pull the plug. We learned about the details to the fight and it was a really weird and twisted story. Apparently, the man that's in the hospital had a restraining order from his ex wife and the guy that fought him was the boyfriend of the ex wife (who was there when the fight went down).
